What new samples DO you want?

Post by Hanon_CTS »

Hello All,
so what samples DO you want?

I searched the forum to see if there had been any hue and cry for CS-80, JP-4, OB-8, Optigan, and Orchestron Samples.
Unless I missed something, it seems that the majority would like to have some better EPianos, Clavinet with key-off artifact, an XL version of the Steinway Grand Lady D, and perhaps a .npno Piano sample with Strings or Pad layered in (for the Electro owners).

I believe Clavia stills reads us from time to time.
So sound off.
What do YOU want?

Cheers, Hanon

btw,
If I failed to list something that you want, write ins will be considered.

Nice initiative Hanon, I submitted my vote and--- a Thanks! ;-)

PS: it was not in teh options but I'd also like a new Grand Piano, maybe not necessary XL (Large is good enough) but with better midrange quality & more velocity layers 8-)

Hello yew2533,
I must say that I've really enjoyed listening to your rather prolific set of piano covers on youtube.
They are all excellent. :yourock:
I would urge any members that haven't yet listened to him, to take time to do so:

The Nord Sample Library is very diverse.
It does include the Oberheim OB-8.
In my opinion, that's barely an Oberheim at all.

The OB-8 was a radical departure from the electronics (and sound) of the FVS-1, OB-X, and OB-Xa.

Cheers, Hanon

Agreed, great initiative Hanon!

I voted for more EPs: Rhodes, Wurlies, Pianets, and key-off samples on the Clav!
I would also love to see a Kawai/Shigeru Kawai grand piano and Kawai K-3 upright!

Of course, all new samples *including EPs* should be made available in XL and L sizes. ;)

While I'm always grateful for the vintage synth sounds Clavia makes available, I'd be lying if I didn't say I wish they placed more emphasis on improving the core EP sounds.

I expect when the Kronos-based Korg SV-2 is launched at Messe (prediction) we will see Nord unveil a whole load of better EP samples to compete.

Cheers,
James

+1p I tried to emulate it layering the Italian Lute (at less than half-volume) to the clav, but of course it is not the same....

I gotta say that I also do +1 to one of the older oberheims. Plus I´d love a new EP and the PPG Wave samples (but those will be somewhat harder to get).
