Hi, I'm trying to add some downloaded sounds to my Electro 6 for the first time (specifically Silver Grand and Rubber Tines) and Nord Sound Manager says there's no room for any in the piano partition. I've never added any sounds before so can is it really the case that the piano comes with the storage full and I need to delete things to make room? Is there a way to make space by deleting a lot of the 200+ sample sounds I never use and using that space for more piano sounds, maybe backing up the deleted sounds in case I ever want them in the future?
In order to add piano or synth samples you need to do even two things:
First of all deselect the Memory Protection in the Systems setting. Then again you'll probably find that there isn't much space left for new samples. You can not delete programs in order to get sample space - you need to delete piano samples to load new piano samples, and delete synth samples to be able to load new synth samples.
That's why users have multiple strategies:
a) delete all and create everything new on your own;
b) backup all programs (or download the factory reset package) and delete as much as you want;
c) delete single samples to add single samples.
BTW it's a good idea to load new samples in a space beyond the factory samples - so you know what's your work.
yes it’s possible that the Electro 6 comes with a fully loaded piano sample memory.
No, it’s not possible to delete other sample sounds from the sample synth to make room for additional pianos. These are two fully independent and separated memory spaces and not shared between the piano and the sample synth engine.
You have to delete piano samples which you will not use, then load others into the piano sample memory
