a 'sliding' Nord

Post by ch79431 »

Have a silly problem here....but I've never seen anyone post about it before.

when I do organ smears on my NE 3......the keyboard goes with it !

I mean, it nearly slides off the kybd stand....I love the light-weight aspect of Nords
but this can be a problem as you can imagine.

Don't think velcro strips would be strong enough to hold the board in place.
Any one ever had this issue ? Or how to fix it ?

thx

I use marine weatherstripping on my stand and it keeps my boards in place.

You didn't tell what sort of kb stand you have. I had to exchange the rubber pads on my kb stand as they got older and hardened: Now I have adhesive silicone buttons (less surface, more grip - needs to be tested) which I got provided by the manufacturer of the (old) stand.

But of course, all this depends on the grade of enthousiasm you put into the smears. :)

Hi ch79431,

I agree with what FZiegler said about the stand. Mine is a k&m 18950 which I have adjusted in its width to my NE5D 61 so that the key‘s rubber feet land in the holes of the stand bars. Furthermore 4 rock solid feet of the stand help on almost every stage floor. Smears in the manner of Jon Lord or Lachy Doley aren‘t my problem.

Cheers

Ha ha.....yes...I try not to get TOO enthusiastic with those smears !!
Its a Quik-Lock double X stand.....but its missing the two rubber feet at the front.....planning to replace those.

The stand doesn't move.....just the Nord
