Restart LFO when MIDI transport starts on A1

Post by frekvencia »

Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone knows how to restart the LFO on a Nord Lead A1 when a MIDI Transport Start message is received.

I'm sequencing my A1 with an Elektron Digitone. The LFO on the A1 is synchronized with the master clock, and the A1 reveices clock and transport data via 5 pin MIDI.

Holding SHIFT and the MST CLK button on the A1 displays the expected tempo.

It seems that despite all of this, the LFO is free running.

I would like to make it start at the same position whenever my sequencer sends a Transport Start message.

Any ideas?

Not sure it can be done, but apparently you can synchronise it on note on (sorry I do not have an A1 to test). Maybe this thread is useful:

That is not exactly what I'm aiming to do. I essentially want my LFO to always start at a known position when my song starts playing but apart from that I do want the LFO to just keep running throughHhrestout the somg wHeithout interruption. It's no good if each note restarts the LFO.

I think I made a mistake somewhere. I tried with an empty patch and it seems that the LFO does reset when a transport start message is received.
