Which Nord for most (economical) mellotron and more samples?

hi,

i'd appreciate to get some help in my choice of a Nord keyboard.

i am not a great keyboard player, let alone a piano or organ player - and to be honest, i like my vintage synths better than most modern synths.

i would really like to add the nord sample memory to my sounds, particularly the mellotron, chamberlin, fairlight sounds.

i used to own a nord wave, but even then i found the sample memory limited and also, i hardly ever used it as a synthesizer.

now i am thinking of getting another nord keyboard, with more sample memory. but since that is what i will be mainly using, i'm looking for an economical solution.

i found the nord wave 2 has 1gb, which is nice. but maybe the electro 6d, with its 512mb is a better option (the organs and piano's are a more logical addition to my vintage synths) and maybe cheaper...
are there any other option, that will give me at least 512mb sample memory (and hopefully more) at a reasonable price (€1000-1500 used - or €1500-2000 new) ?

If you don’t need a mod wheel or pitch stick the 6D is hard to beat.

A used Electro 5 is probably the best value for money, in your case: even though it features just 256 MB of memory, you can still load up something like twenty or even thirty unlooped Mellotron or Chamberlin samples; if you opt for the looped ones, which weigh just 2 or 3 MB on an average, then many, many more (Fairlight samples are even smaller). You don't really need all that memory if you only need to add Mellotron sounds to your gigs. You might even consider buying the Mellotron Micro, which features one hundred programs in a quite small (though expensive) package.

i have been checking the samples i'm interested in and making the maths. 512mb seems to be quite enough to hold them.
and i can definitely do without the stick and wheel on this one. so, thanks i will try and find me a 6D.
