Yes, that's a well know thing, but good to remind from time to time :)
(in general as on/off pedals there are plenty of options to choose from, for example the Roland DP10 can also work as on/off and has that nice rubber heel pad to hold it)

Yes FATAR/Studiologic (they are essentially the same thing) are not only suppliers of keyboard actions, but also of many other parts/accessories. Many small (and not so small) companies find it more convenient to just source the part from FATAR, rather than developing their own. Of course rebranding those accessories as their own has costs, because they will have to pay purchase and/or licencing fees to FATAR/Studiologic.

The Nord Triple Pedal is also from FATAR, even if it's rewired in a customized way that makes it uncompatible with other brands.
Also widely used are a FATAR double pedal and expression pedal.

Not just a "rewire" but a specific board design in that case (dual contacts + resistors netwok for sustain and also sostenuto/soft, see the famous thread on "Inside Triple Pedal modifications" accessories-and-amplification-f8/inside ... t1883.html), just to avoid someone thinking that it is just a matter of buying a VFP3 and rewire it)

Yes thanks for the clarification, as thoroughly analyzed here in the forum, it's true that the Nord Triple Pedal is a substantial modification to FATAR's standard design.

Also, it should be noted that even the standard VFP1, 2 and 3 come each in 2 or 3 variants, so be careful to buy the compatible one when looking for a cheap replacement!

Is there a specific VFP3 that’s fully compatible with Nord as Nord’s version has a different board?

Also, while Fatar or Roland or others might have compatible single “sustain” pedals, am I correct in understanding that NONE of them engage string resonance? I would LOVE to have a single pedal for that purpose.
