Mellotron with nord electro 4 ?
hello, I may be buying a used nord electro 4 but I wanted to make sure that I can download mellotron banks? Is it possible ? I believe so but not the latest versions
what do you think ? Do you advise me to take a 5 or even a 6 ?
I'm not a great pianist, I need to have a nice keyboard with sounds of electric pianos and piano + mellotron on hand
Thanks a lot

You are correct regarding sample compatibility. Check the Sample Library Archive section on Nord’s official website.
Speaking as a current Electro 4 AND Stage 3 owner, the E4 still sounds great… but there’s no layering/splitting of sounds (piano, B3, samples). One timbre at a time is all you get. If that matters to you, you should pursue the 5 or 6.

Ok , thanks ,
I'll see that, I'm not really interested in the superposition of sounds

Re: Mellotron with nord electro 4 ?
Because the Mellotron sounds are single velocity, you can easily sample from any favorite VST or get a (free) sample set. Using the Sample editor you can load them into the Electro.
So for live usage you can load any flavour you like.
The stock Nord Samples are already a great start however.
