Gear tip: inexpensive IEMs!
I know there are a few people who want to try IEMs, but might be put off the cost. If you're in the US, how does $50 sound to you?
Seriously, I tried a pair of very inexpensive IEMs and couldn't believe my ears. It's a sealed, five driver design that seems to use the exact same design and components seen elsewhere. If you are familiar with the Westone AM Pro 30s, those extra two drivers means you can hear your left hand like you maybe haven't heard it before? Clear, comfortable sound throughout the range, although they will need a bit of breaking in. After trying them, I didn't want to go back to the Westones.
These are on Amazon, but you might find them elsewhere. "KZ ZS10 Pro, Linsoul 4BA+1DD 5 Driver in-Ear HiFi Metal Earphones with Stainless Steel Faceplate, 2 Pin Detachable Cable". I guess they couldn't afford a marketing department, but that's ok.
For $50? Count me in. I'm not sure about the sealed-in aspect for a live gig (didn't like it before), but for rehearsals and everyday use, they are exceptional. I can leave a pair in my studio, in my gig bag, near the couch, etc. Not sorry I have the Westones, as ambient is nice, especially for acoustic gigs.

Re: Gear tip: inexpensive IEMs!
Get away from kz in ears .. its cheap chinese and they have ultrasonics that can damage your ear through time of using..
Its really cheap and the first impression is WOW sounds amazing . Yes it gives this impression of good sounding in ear..
Unfortunately they are not correct sounded in ear.. each driver havent been crossed corectly with the frequencys..
For examble the bass driver should go from 20 to 80 or 100 hz the second mid bass driver should go from 101 to 300… the miss point is that these drivers in this chinese kz in ear. They used like first bass driver 20 to 200 and second mid bass driver from 100 to 300.. there are many points that they have the same freqs this makes the in ear having huge freq cancelations which makes uncorrect hearing..
But in the end the biggest problem with these kz in ears is the final freq response which is if i remember correct at 43000 hz… since the human understandable hearing is around 16000-20000 (depending age) the 43000 ultrasonics it gives that freq that we cant realise it and makes our ear drum high vibrations and during time it gives hearing loss.. thats why these in ears are for 50 usd… they just bought 10 drivers and put them in a random cell .. no sophisticated research at all…
Ask your ear doctor or your audiologist for more details on that about the hearing loss by ultrasonics
They are also have extremely bad fitment and pain the ear…
I have 5 pair of this kz zs10 pro for my sound and lights rental company.. but i must be honest about it..
Protect and respect your ears…. buy them some serious in ears..
Good serius in ear brands are 64audio, jhaudio, ultimate ears, westone… and some more

Re: Gear tip: inexpensive IEMs!
All good, so thanks. I don't intend to use them for extended periods, just occasional use.
It can't be any worse than playing next to a loud drummer

Wouldn't the response range of the instrument/mixer/amp limit the contents of the signal that is being fed into the drivers?M1tsos wrote: But in the end the biggest problem with these kz in ears is the final freq response which is if i remember correct at 43000 hz… since the human understandable hearing is around 16000-20000 (depending age) the 43000 ultrasonics it gives that freq that we cant realise it and makes our ear drum high vibrations and during time it gives hearing loss..

Yes, the input frequencies drive the output frequencies. And I don't play up that high
