Nord Piano 5 - Strange sound behavior
So I've got my brand new Nord Piano 5 88 today.
I tried to play every note staccato at default preset (White Grand). On keys from C0 to E6 it sounds as it should but starting from F6 there is some strange effect like sustain pedal is pressed and I hear some noisy resonance in the background which stays for pretty long after pressing it staccato.
Is there any way to remove it? Or is it some kind of an issue?

Re: Nord Piano 5 - Strange sound behavior
Hi... that's how a real piano works as it has no dampers on notes from F6 up and the engine of the Nord Piano Section emulates that faithfully (like most modern professional digital pianos do); there is no setting to change that.GrimPiano wrote:So I've got my brand new Nord Piano 5 88 today.

PS: since you are not the first asking this (and probably not the last) I think we should add this Q&A in the FAQ (@NUF moderators)

That was a real surprise for me since I didn't notice anything like that anywhere else before.
I hope it will not take much time to adjust to this feature.

Re: Nord Piano 5 - Strange sound behavior
Hi GrimPiano,
first of all welcome to this forum!
As Max mentioned the Nord Piano mimics the behaviour of a real acoustic piano, and these have no dampers from F6 upwards. It's therefore not surprising that the Nord Piano is not damping the notes above E6, if they would do this it would not be replicating an acoustic piano correctly. I therefore would not expect them to change this

Re: Nord Piano 5 - Strange sound behavior
You can deactivate String Resonance, yes, as a mitigation, but not enable dampers on keys F6 and upwards.catosim wrote:This function is easy to switch on/off, se page 12 in the manual:GrimPiano wrote:Is there any way to remove it? Or is it some kind of an issue?
