I know they both have the Fatar TP40 keybed but have some differences - I believe the SL88 Grand is the TP40 wood version whereas the Nord Piano 5 is fully plastic, but I'm not sure if that makes a difference in the action itself. I also know the SL88 Grand has the aftertouch strip, which may affect the bottoming out of the action.
Anyone have experience with both and know how they compare? Do they feel largely the same or are the significant differences in the feel between the two?

Another difference is that the SL88 is graded (bottom keys feel heavier, top keys feel lighter).

Right, even if it is still not 100% clear which TP40 is actually used on NP5 (and also NP4), the official specs say 88(73)-note Triple Sensor keybed with grand weighted action but does that mean TP40M, H or ... Re: SL88 Grand Keybed vs Nord Piano 5 Keybed
I tried Stage 3 88 and Pano 4 in the store. I didn’t feel much difference among them. When playing at the Nord Grand, my hands got tired. In a few days the problem did not disappear even by changing the sensitivity (curves) of the speed. Nord Piano 5 turned out to be easier and more comfortable for me. Ideal. No problems, as for example with Kawai MP7SE and ES8. But the VPC-1 and the model with the Grand Feel keyboard (can't remember the model) is just as heavy as the Nord Grand. I think my opinion is very subjective and sorry for my English.
