a new OS was just released for the Stage 3 with some fixes, but still no significant enhancements. Not even support for the new v4 sample format added yet which was mentioned some time ago:
v2.60 (2021-09-23)
Improved handling of high-velocity strokes during quick key repetitions.
Adjusted velocity curves for incoming and outgoing MIDI.
Added MIDI menu option for “MIDI Out Velocity Legacy”. Set this to "On" to instead use the pre-v2.60 velocity curves, if needed.
MIDI velocity curves for Extern Keyboard Velocity options were adjusted.
Program Change messages were still received/listened to when set to “Off” or “Send” in MIDI menu, under certain circumstances. Fixed.
Adjusted Volume Level dial acceleration.

I've been looking forward to a new OS. This one sounds really basic. It makes me wonder if new development for future products may be getting more attention.
Nonetheless, I'm thankful they are still doing NS3 updates. I had hoped for Pending Load and maybe some other surprises. I'll be sure to install this into my NS3 units and test at my upcoming gigs and rehearsals.

was this a known defect?
I've seen a few people posting on Facebook, sharing videos where quick repetitive key strokes causes jumpy volume things, like sudden full velocity spikes. I haven't experienced it and I think most of the ones I've seen were on weighted actions.

florence wrote:thanks also adding the sample v4 support on the existing NS3 is pure speculation, we all hope but who knows...
Well not really speculation since it was mentioned on the Nord Sample Library 4.0 page: "The Nord Sample Library 4.0 is only compatible with the Nord Stage 3, Nord Electro 6, Nord Piano 4, Nord Grand and Nord Wave 2."
Unfortunately access to the entry page of the Library 4.0 now requires a username and password (although the individual sound sections of the Library 4.0 can still be accessed without ) and we therefore cannot check if the above was a mistake and has been changed now....

Maybe .. and still not as much samples in there as in Library 3.0 although the number is constantly growing. We'll see ....
Anyway, looks like we should not expect any new functional additions to the Stage 3 anymore, just bug fixing and probably some slight adjustments. That's still way better support than many other vendors provide, one of the Nord benefits
