Taking a Nord Electro 3 Overseas- Voltage Conversion

Hello,

I recently purchased a Nord Electro 3 in the US and am moving to another country and will bring it with. Im trying to figure out what I will need to convert the voltage in order to play it abroad? The country I’m moving to runs on 230V 50 watts. The Nord says 115V 25watts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

The usual way to change the power setting:
1. Disconnect the power from the AC power outlet.
2.Open the Nord.
3. Locate power supply and switch the setting from 115V to 230V
4. Replace the fuse with a 125mA slow-blow fuse
5. Replace the power cable with one compatible with the new country's power outlet.

The other alternative is to buy a transformer (external to the nord) that converts the power from 230V to the 115V. Purchase one with the correct input/output plugs and receptacles.

Thank you for the info! I’d like to go with the simplest option so I think buying a transformer will be the move. Any recommendations for a specific transformer? And any more info on input/output plugs and receptacles would be great as I don’t know what those are.

Actually the simplest option is to flip the switch on the power supply and swap the fuse. You don't have to do anything else, no external box to forget, don't have to worry about somebody inadvertently plugging the unit into a 220v plug by mistake, and infinitely cheaper. Fuse and a plug adapter should be less than $10.

I see what you’re saying. And so if I do this then all I need is an adapter plug to plug into an H outlet? After switching the fuse and switch.
And if I were to use a transformer, is it attached to the Nord power cable which is then attached to the adapter? How does that work?

The power plug of the Nords follows a well know standard: IEC 60320-C14. You should be able to get a fitting power cable for any country in the world:

Hello,

So I’m deciding to change the voltage inside the keyboard by flipping the switch from 115 to 230 and swapping the fuse. I bought the 125mA slow blow fuse but the one I purchased is very small. I just want to check in and see if it is still okay to use.
