Nord Grand Error
I have just bought Nord Grand and found problem with some piano sounds (always appears "white noise" along with piano
sound). I've tried to do factory reset but it cannot be fixed and that
problem has been occurring to another piano sounds. I am not sure whether the
main reason belongs to the piano's memory or not as the sample memory actives
normally.
I have recorded that error and it is included in the attachment.
Please kindly help to check this issue and advise me how to fix it as soon as
possible.
I am looking forward to your response.
Thank you & Best regards,

Re: Nord Grand Error
HI if you have done a full restore (I mean both OS/Firmware update followed by a Factory Restore from backup) and you still have the issue, you can only send it back and have it repaired/replaced.

Thank you for your quick reply.
I am using latest version 1.54 of Nord Grand OS so how can I set it back to the original OS? Please kindly advise me.
Thank you again for your help. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Re: Nord Grand Error
It's OK (I'd say "best") to use the latest version, just try to reload it once again then do the Factory Restore and... let us knowthanhvuong1984 wrote:Hi,maxpiano wrote:HI if you have done a full restore (I mean both OS/Firmware update followed by a Factory Restore from backup) and you still have the issue, you can only send it back and have it repaired/replaced.

Re: Nord Grand Error
Hi thanhvuong
and a very warm welcome to this wonderful forum of nord enthusiasts, even if your experience with the Grand began strange.
You asked how to set it back to the original OS. Nord usually doesn‘t keep older OSs in the website‘s download area. From time to time it might be good to save older versions yourself, but most of the time the new ones don‘t implement new bugs. I guess if your Grand doesn’t work properly with the actual OS AND if you have checked that your cables are alright AND if you don‘t have any other source of interference close to the keyboard then it shouts for a repair.
Good luck and sunny regards from Germany

Re: Nord Grand Error
Sorry to hear about your problem.
Apart from an OS restore, you could make sure not to have connected anything: Disconnect Audio-in, Headphones (especially, if you use an adapter for them), maybe even pedals. And try again.
Try with other cables or other amplification, too, if possible.
Try to use another power supply, too.
If that noise persists, the problem must be inside your instrument.

Re: Nord Grand Error
I listened to your audio. Very avant garde, so congratulations!
Yeah, something digital is going haywire in the audio chain. Try with headphones just to make sure the problem is not downstream in your signal chain.
I had an episode long ago with a Nord Piano where the symptom was missing samples and/or static. At the time, Pablo recommended reloading the operating system firmware, and then all the samples. That second bit took quite a while, I might add. We decided that there had been a memory error that spiked several pages of fast flash memory. Re-installing cured the problem.
I do miss Pablo.
If you're getting the noise via headphones AND have reloaded your firmware AND reinstalled samples, it's time for the repair shop, unfortunately.

I think I have gear issues ....
Re: Nord Grand Error
If it's only happening to some piano samples and not others it might suggest the sample file got corrupted somehow, rare event but can happen.thanhvuong1984 wrote: I have just bought Nord Grand and found problem with some piano sounds
By reading your posts it's not entirely clear to me whether you actually tried reloading the piano samples or not. You mentioned the OS reflash, and that's OK as a first attempt but that won't rewrite your loaded samples. As other fellows already did here, I'd stress the difference between OS reflash and samples reload, the second of which is more important in your case.

Re: Nord Grand Error
Thank you all for your suggestions above.
I tried all the ways that all of you mentioned but the error was still occurred unfortunately so I decided to send it back for checking and repairing.
The final answer will be informed to all of you when the repair is done.
Thank you all!
