Hi all,
I'm new on the forum and the Nord.
Question I have is how you can use an existing song-intro (few seconds of strange sounds) for the Nord Stage 2?
Is it better tot use a FLAC or MP3? Most simple seems to play it with Music on your iPhone.
But I prefer to have it somewhere on the Nord Stage 2. How do i make a Nord-file of that (MP3 or FLAC)?
TNX so far.
Happy New Year and Stay Save!

Re: Use Song Intro on the Nord Stage 2
Hi and welcome to this great Nord community!
One way to since this is to create a .wav file of the sequence you want to have played, and then use Nord Sample Editor to create a sample which is using one key only to play the audio when you press that key. I did this a few times and used either the highest or lowest key of the keyboard for it (the keys which are used much less than all others).
The flip side is that you have to “waste” one of the synth slots for this, but you can also combine the intro sound on a specific key with another or couple of another sounds for the other keyboard areas when using different wave files combined into one sample with sample editor. It’s not very complicated once you understand how the sample editor works

Re: Use Song Intro on the Nord Stage 2
As schorsch said, the only way is to create a nsmp file. You can not load mp3s directly on your nord. I've done the same, with the diference that I use a multisample consisting from various wav. files assigned on different keys. I can play variations of the intro each time and decide how long the intro will last.
