Keyboard error storage failure message

Post by ravdbc »

I am new to the Nord World - picked up a used Stage e 76, and am elated. However, I am frequently getting the above mentioned message upon startup. From what I can tell, all the presets are there, though the error message covers up most of the screen. I've searched hear and elsewhere, but can't seem to figure out what is up. Anone with ideas/suggestions? Thanks.

I have a similar on-going error on my Stage2 76. I also occasion see errors with loading a specific sample on boot. I can hit the shift button and it continues to boot...all good. It has completely hung up a couple times and I simply restore from a back-up and I'm good to go. The keyboard has some serious mileage on it (almost a 1000 shows) and needs the love of a technician. I'm sure some memory needs some fixing or replaced.

Was there any resolution to either situation? This is really the only notation on any website.

If this may help to anyone in the future. I found my error message was caused by a connector not seated all the way. An unseated cable in between the flat flex cable (ribbon connector) for the keyboard board. Hopefully no one else runs across this one.

I had this 'keyboard error storage failure' message coming up every time I booted for a couple of months on my Nord Grand. Tried installing latest firmware 1.62 but still error message on boot. Read this thread, saw about loose connectors inside. Considered opening and having a look, but also having minor contact problems. Remembering having seen a solution on some thread, layed the Grand upside down on my bed and slapped/tapped all around the back panel, as firmly as I dared, to dislodge any junk. A few little bits of rubbish were left on bed when I looked, which I disposed of. Plugged back in, booted... no message! And some funky contact problems that were causing some loud notes also seem better. Early days, but I'm pretty happy! Up to you if you want to try this on your Nord, mine's out of warranty and I was fed up enough with the issue to just try it before considering opening myself to poke around or taking to the shop. Good luck!
