last year I purchased a new Nord Electro 6. Due to issues with my studios I barely used it until recently and discovered that the shift button isn't really working fully. If I keep it pressed and try a combination with another key nothing happens. Same thing happens with Program 1 and 2 buttons, they seem to work only for certain menus and not for others.
Anyone of you have experienced this issue? I have updated the software already and can confirm that nothing has changed. I am hoping to be bale to sort out this myself rather than having to send this to a repair shop, it would be very frustrating having to spend money on a new keyboard I have barely used.
That's strange indeed. Normally the shift key should trigger the function name that is written below a certain button. So if you press shift+store it should bring up the "Store as..." function. Same for the program buttons (system, sound, prog init, organize).
If this isn't working (even after a firmware update), I guess there is no other option to bring it to a tech center / dealer.
I had a couple of buttons go bad on my NE6. I brought it to my local tech for replacement and so far so good. At the time, it was less than a year old with very low hours. I have owned 3 Electros prior to the 6 (2, 3 & 5), many were gigged with heavily and I never had a button fail. It kind of makes me wonder what's going on because I know others have had similar issues. I do know that starting with the Electro 5, the quality of the control pots was not the same, but that was a very obvious change. Maybe they are using different buttons now too, but I'm not really sure.
