Re: low price midi sound modules?
Before I got the NS2 I used an Alesis NanoSynth for the odd string and synth patch. Tiny thing about 6'' across, got for £40 on eBay. Far too old to support USB though. Google for "desktop sound module" and something might turn up. I've heard good things about the Waldorf Blofeld, but that's very much a synth and possibly a bit beyond your budget.

Re: low price midi sound modules?
Hello titanium,
Ritchie333's is a good solution.
What types of sounds are you wanting?
What type(s) of music do you primarily play?
Another option would be the Roland XV-2020.
It's a half rack space synth that I've seen sell on e8ay for around $225 USD
Still yet another would be the Kurzweil Micro Ensemble which I've seen go for $185 USD
Merry Christmas, Hanon

Re: low price midi sound modules?
After researching Ritchie 333s suggestion of the Aleis Nano synth I think it would be a good choice.Sounds I am needing are strings, brasses, flutes and drumkits. But I have just one more question, are the included sounds convincing?I havent been able to find a good demo for It. Thankyou for the advice and Merry Christmas.

Re: low price midi sound modules?
I don't have any recordings of the NanoSynth. If I could find a power supply for it, I could dig mine out and record a few bits and pieces.
