Feature idea for next generation of nords
I had an idea for a new feature for future nords today (apologies if it's already been discussed/implemented)
Adding panning features for certain sections of the keyboard, ie instead of simply having organ/piano hard panned L/R having an option to choose how much of one or the other sent to each side. This would be useful especially for organ (not just how much bottom/top rotor but also able to have one output dedicated to each one). I could see it being useful in other situations as well, being able to hard pan piano and synth to dedicated outputs?

Re: Feature idea for next generation of nords
Panning is already possible using the Auto-Pan effect, setting rate to zero and using the Amount pot to pan the instrument.
Of course, only one instrument per Slot can be panned this way.
I’m not sure how splitting the horn and rotor across separate outputs makes more sense than having a stereo out for the whole thing. I don’t think I’ve ever processed horn and rotor of a Leslie separately in a mix, ever.

The Nord giveth; the Nord taketh away…

I can see where the suggestion / request comes from. I agree with it. The issue being that in order to pan an instrument, the auto-pan effect is used as part of the chain, therefore that effect section cannot be further used in an instrument's effects assignment, so yes, this could be a=made available within the firmware.

Re: Feature idea for next generation of nords
I've done a lot of organ trio stuff (albeit without a leslie) and i've had many soundpeople request a separate bass/lower manual & treble/high manual outputs (i seem to remember getting some looks or condescension about how crumars have different outputs for each manual?? though I could be misremembering). i've also been in plenty of situations where I'm asked to play synth bass lines splitting the synth and piano sections and having separate outputs would be extremely useful to say, plug one into a bass amp.
Perhaps not an ideal usage but one that might be helpful for others as well.

Which Nord do you play? Splitting synth and piano to two separate outputs is possible already on many (all?) units, but maybe I misunderstood your idea?willycliffton wrote: i've also been in plenty of situations where I'm asked to play synth bass lines splitting the synth and piano sections and having separate outputs would be extremely useful to say, plug one into a bass amp.

Re: Feature idea for next generation of nords
I use an electro 6 - I'm not sure mine can separate outputs for piano/synth, as far as I was aware you could just split organ and piano/synth separately. The main concept as I would use it would be to split the organ lower and upper manual on the L/R outputs. If one of the other models has this feature maybe I should've saved up a little more for one
