external Midi pitch-bend-controller possible?

Hi guys,

I own the NE6D and I miss a pitch-bend wheel / stick. My idea was to build an external controller by my own. I searched the internet and found a electronic-unit for wheels which provides Midi functionality.
It`s from the german company "Doepfer". The PCB is quite cheap ( 39€) + wheel / joystick. http://www.doepfer.de/we.htm
Anybody has experience with such a thing or has a different one working?
