USB 3.0

Hi everyone, I'm just wondering if the Nord Stage 2, or any Nord supports USB 3.0 for quicker transfer speeds? Or if good old USB 2.0 is fine and it won't make a difference either way.
I'm always testing the different piano sounds (XL) and need to hear how they sound through my amp and on gigs, and the process of moving these large samples is slow.

Thanks, looks like the Nord Stage 2 and probably 3 are both USB 1.1 so a standard USB 2.0 cable will do.

Absolutely not 1.1. It would take days to transfer files.
Both the stage 2 and 3 should be USB 2.x
Would have been nice if the Stage 3 were 3.x, but don't believe that to be the case.

1.1 is what lsusb says... unless there is a different mode to send MIDI and data at the same time.
12Mbps is about 1.5MB/sec, no?
in one minute that would be about 90MB transferred.
in 30 mins that is about 2.6GB
How long does it take to backup the NS2?

I don't think USB 3.0 will much improve time for backup and restore. As I understand the weakest link is the time it take to read and write from the memorychips.

I did a little more digging on this and I believe your correct. The Nord Stage interfaces seem to be based on the full-speed USB 1.1 spec at 12mbps or 1.5MB/sec.
USB 2.0 would be a big improvement in RAW transfer speed, but as pointed out the Memory write speed is likely the limiting factor as it probably wouldn't be able to keep up with the data transfer rate.
