Everything about Nord keyboards in general; which one to choose, the sound manager, sample editor, and general discussion about the sample and piano libraries.

New piano library sample compatibility, differences

Post by lukacsmarton00 »

What is the difference between the new samples (White Grand, marimba, and the etc. ) and the old ones? What makes those not compatible with legacy hardware like the Piano 1, Stage Classic? The file type is the same, so I wonder if is there any way to load the new sounds into my NS1.

I think the difference is likely additional layers and/or other parameters that required an OS update before the new sounds worked on the Stage 3/2EX/2, Nord Electro 6/5, Nord Piano 4/3 and Nord Grand. Other models/versions did not get the OS update, so the new sounds will not work.
