I've connected my iPad to my NS3 using a simple USB B to lightning lead which seems to work perfectly fine as I'm able to play Sampletank and other apps on the NS3. However, I cannot figure out how to control the iPad using the EXTERN section. I'd like to be able to turn the sounds from the iPad on and off but Midi seems to be transmitted regrdless of wether the EXTERN is on or off.
Is it a settings issue or do I need to connect the iPad using different lead? If so, what do I need.
Global is off but I think ive just discovered the answer...
On the Extern Settings, Midi Channel Usage needs to be set to Per Progrm not Shared!
I can now turn the midi on and off to the iPad
Maybe I just don't fully understand your setup, but it sounds strange if you cannot turn off the extern section when midi channels are set globally. The main difference should be in whether the channel is saved with each program or if all programs use the same midi channel.
