I had to do this because of the issue that the volume pedal will send volume messages even when the feature is disabled in the Extern Section, and I have a gig coming up. I know it is always best to use the current OS, but in this case, I could not because of the pedal volume issue.
Keep in mind, it is essential you save all of your custom programs before attempting this. I save them on a regular basis, so I had them from a couple of weeks earlier. Since it was a pretty involved process, I thought I would document it here. I had all of the new Elec Pianos installed.
1. Saved off the new elec piano samples, then deleted them from the instrument.
2. Loaded the old samples and put them in the slots where the new ones resided.
3. Did the downgrade to 1.60 (took two attempts, reboot did not happen the first time).
4. Nord Sound manager reported that many of my "programs were unsupported, please replace them or upgrade your OS"
5. Deleted all programs
6. Reloaded my saved programs
7. Re-linked all the pianos.
Everything now works as it did before, and no volume messages are sent when configured that way-
