Combining several WAV files into one sample - possible?

Everything about Nord keyboards in general; which one to choose, the sound manager, sample editor, and general discussion about the sample and piano libraries.

Combining several WAV files into one sample - possible?

Post by Schorsch »

Hi,

just a quick question: the Sample Editor allows loading more than one WAV file when creating a sample, is it possible to combine several WAV files into one sample?

OK, can you let me know very briefly how to achieve this? When loading 2 WAV files and assigning both of them to the same keyboard range the player of the sample editor does play only the first WAV file of the list

You can combine two wavs on your computer, and load the combined result into the Nord as a single sample.

Something like Audacity will let you combine them into a single WAV.

You simply go into the Nord Sample editor and add as many wav's as you want and assign them to any keys you want. YOu then save it and then you have a sample with mutlple WAV's. You don't have to combine them in Audacity.

Yes that way is obvious, I was looking for a way to do this in the sample editor.

You can assign only 1 waveform per keyboard range, Nord .nsmp format (and sound engines that can play it) are "monolayer".

What are you exactly trying to do? Can you be more detailed, please? It will help to answer you better...
