NS3 Organ routing
Hi,
Why does the organ rotary need to be routed only thru ch1+2? I was trying to record on a gig and run channel 1+2 to my amp, and 3+4 to the recording interface to be recorded direct in. Obviously with enough cables and DI's I could have made this work without 3+4, but this would have been an easy solution except organ sounds will not come thru on 3+4.
Why was this a design decision? Any ideas to work around that?

Re: NS3 Organ routing
The design was intended to allow running the organ through a separate external effects path (Leslie, or Leslie sim, reverb, etc).

Correct me if I'm wrong: Without using outputs 3+4, you only need one stereo DI box to achieve what you want to do. Is that really what you're complaining about?dfresh25 wrote:Hi,

Re: NS3 Organ routing
Not complaining, just asking. I'm still not sure I see a reason why there can't be an option to have all sounds go through all channels 1-4. Just thought I'd ask.
Yes, in my situation I do not carry a stereo di box nor do I carry more than three 1/4 ' cables at a time. So it would have been a convenient solution!!!

Re: NS3 Organ routing
If you only need a copy of your output 1 and 2 signal to record, you could try the headphone out. I use this way at rehearsals, when I need to connect two keyboards to the mixer because I can connect my second board to the nord's monitor input which is routed through over the headphones out. No level problems, everything's just perfect. I have a nord electro but cannot imagine that this shouldn't work on a stage either. PRS-jack at the one end and two cinchs at the other would probably be your cable then. Good luck and regards from Germany.

There is no one here who can answer "why" questions relating to Nord design decisions. This forum is not associated with Nord in any way, but is a public forum founded by Johannes and maintained by him and a small group of well-meaning volunteers.

Ah I see. Then it shall remain a mystery!
@Tasten-Bert. Thanks for your input. I wondered if that could damage the headphone out, but sounds like you have been doing it with no problems. I appreciate your input!
