ROLI Seaboard. Direct connect via USB to NS3
Hi guys.
I would like to connect directly my ROLI Seaboard to Nord Stage 3 via USB.
I have already tried to do it once and it worked. Without changing any settings (not in ROLI, not in NS3) and without USB HUB or computer/tablet.
Later I changed perhaps some setting in the NS3 and it did not work anymore.
Has anyone made this connection? Or someone can tell me how to set NS3 to accept Seaboard control?
Thanx in advance

Try to set NS3 Global Channel to USB1 (or the one matching the settings on the Seaboard)

I was also amazed but, believe me, it worked.maxpiano wrote:It is not possible at all, Seaboard and NS3 are 2 USB devices, they need a USB Host (computer, tablet or dedicated USB MIDI Host HW), I strongly doubt that "it worked" as you state... maybe you can tell what type of cable you use?

Re: ROLI Seaboard. Direct connect via USB to NS3
I found this specification for the Roli Seaboard Rise:
«USB-B port (MIDI out and power).
USB-A port (for charging peripherals)»
The only keyboard I know that work as a host (USB-B) for another keyboard with USB midi (USB-A) is the Korg Kronos. Maybe there are other versions of the Seaboard than the Rise.

Uhm... reading again the page I linked I think you are actually right... it says:Valpurgis wrote:I found this specification for the Roli Seaboard Rise:

The Seaboard is a USB Class Compliant device. It can be connected directly to other USB Class Compliant devices which have a USB host, receive MIDI data, and produce sound in response.
So the "other device" must be the USB host
@carmine80: we go back to point A, connecting the Seabord USB port type A to the NS3 USB (Type B) shouldn't actually work...
