Help Me Get Nord Lead A1 To Play Midi/Notation

I have to get MIDI files to be played by my Nord so I can record. The music is in notation and MIDI form. I have not been able to find an easy guide or easy way to connect. I may not be connecting properly. Currently my use of just one MIDI cable may be the issue but if I need special software or another sort of App to do this easily, it will be helpful to know how to get it.

Hi, Yes you need some software/sequecer that can play MIDI files.

Ah, thank you. PreSonus AudioboxUSB96. Nord Lead A1. Roland Midi Cable. Garageband, Finale Songwriter...I can purchase appropriate software. I will be using this set up a lot once I get it work.

Update: I used to use Logic Pro but don't have it installed. I see an app in the App Store for Apple called MidiPatterns. $12, says it handles this kind of thing. I figured it would be in Garageband but it doesn't seem capable. Maybe I have a license to download Logic again, Garageband's updates limited it badly anyway.
