Electro vs stage questions
Electro vs stage questions
Hey, got questions about the stage series and the electro series..
1. How do the organ engines differ in the electro and the stage and how do they sound different, also which do you prefer and why? I saw a YouTube video comparing a stage. 2 ex vs and electro 4 and the organ sound in the electro 4 was much brighter and full of life than the stage 2 ex. It sounded like there was a mute or a cloth over the sound.
2. Does anyone have a 5D and a stage 3 that can compare the organ sound and piano sounds?
3. Does anyone have personal demos of the organ sounds from the electro series and the stage series

Re: Electro vs stage questions
Electro organ has always been a bit better than Stage. Though my NS2 organ through a Ventilator sounds as good as any organ model I've heard from Nord.

Re: Electro vs stage questions
Chillax guys, Clavia's working on tweaking the organ engine in the S3. They're fully aware it sounds way different.

Are you just making that up or you know this for fact I’m about to go buy one and don’t want to drop six grand for a sub par organ Sound when I can get a second generation electro that sounds way better don’t give me false hope bro
Re: Electro vs stage questions
No but really, is there a reason why the electro has a better organ sound? Isn’t the 4D and 5D using the same library and engine? What makes them different ?

Re: Electro vs stage questions
You must have very acute ears, because I can't tell any meaningful difference between my Electro 4D and my Stage 3 Compact. And, yes, everything sounds amazing through a Vent. Best to focus on figuring out how you're going to bag one of those.ericL wrote:Electro organ has always been a bit better than Stage. I think I have gear issues ....

I have not yet played the NS3, so I cannot draw an immediate comparison other than reading a bunch of complaints on this forumcphollis wrote:You must have very acute ears, because I can't tell any meaningful difference between my Electro 4D and my Stage 3 Compact. I have had mulitple NE units, most recently the NE5, plus the NS2 and NS2EX. Comparing the NE5 out of the box (internal Leslie sim) to either the NS2 or NS2 EX out of the box (internal Leslie sim) - to my ears I hear a distinctly better organ sound from the Electro. There have been a ton of threads on this topic and it has been complicated. Somewhere I did a write up where I said if I was at a gig and had both options available and there was no Vent for the NS2, I would go with the NE5. If there was a Vent, I'd go with the NS2 through the Vent as I like its overall Leslie sound better, and the NS2 has more flexible output routing to work with an external unit like the Vent.

Re: Electro vs stage questions
Heard it direct from Clavia when I contacted them, as have a couple others when they've reached out to support. This is what I don't get is why people on here are acting like Clavia is oblivious to this. Clavia KNOWS the Organ doesn't sound right, Clavia KNOWS that we need the Sample Editor and I imagine they are doing their best at it. Yeah I'm as impatient as the next guy to get these issues fixed, but all I can do is wait and trust Clavia to do right by us. But they certainly aren't ignoring it. Clavia has acknowledged these issue conscientiously when asked, but this seems to get lost in the noise floor of anxious NS3 owners who feel like it'll never get fixed.Pidcin wrote:Fallboard wrote:Chillax guys, Clavia's working on tweaking the organ engine in the S3. Yeahhhh it is weak, like the stage 3 organ weak . $5000 for 73 compact $5500 for 76 and $6000 for 88, plus 13% tax. But honestly and all jokes aside I’m glad you said what you said because I’ve only read that that people who can ntact nord said they got no response, so I’m all hyped up again , gonna get me a Nord stage 3 compact and a kawai VPC1Fallboard wrote:Heard it direct from Clavia when I contacted them, as have a couple others when they've reached out to support.
