Nord lead 4 midi hold

Post by medioluis »

Hi everybody!

I love this synth and i´m trying to stack with it the sounds of my Mellotron using NL4 also as MIDI master.

The question is that when i use Hold in the NL4, the sound doesn´t "hold" in the Mellotron. In the past, I used to keyhold from Roland Gaia to Mellotron and it really worked...

Anyone can help with NL4 midi settings to reach my target?

Thanks and best 4U!!!

You can't. The hold button of the Nords don't use the classic hold midi cc.
Actual synth: Nord Modular G2 - Nord Stage 3 73 - Virus Ti2 - Peak - Prophet 6
Before: Nord Lead 3 & 4, Stage 1&2, Wave, Virus C, DSI Tetra, P12, and few others...

There is a workaround, you can use a foot pedal/sustain pedal.

I haven't tried this, but if you have a pedal with a polarity switch, you can invert its behaviour, so when you press it down you release the notes instead of holding them.

Alternatively you could just wire a SPST switch (basically an on/off switch) to a jack plug too.

Hey!

I´ve got one of those and it keeps sustained on the mello, but notes get piling up one over another and it´s really hard to keep control.

I´ll try the SPST switch solution...

Thanks!
