NS3: Sounds are reordered by itself
Hi all,
After NS1, NS2 88 and NS2 73 I got my NS3 last week.
But when I turned on the NS3 today, all the sounds are reordered by itself!!!
First, I could not believe it. How can this happen? I have never experienced anything like this.
I cannot recognize a scheme in the new sorting, all sounds are mixed up.
Previously, Bank A and B are almost empty, just 15 of my own Sounds. Now all empty sounds have been moved to the end. My own sounds are mixed up with the factory sound. The sounds themselves are not changed.
Nevertheless, since I'm sending program changes from the ipad, I would be pretty lost on stage…
Now I do not have much confidence in this board anymore.
Johannes

Re: NS3: Sounds are reordered by itself
By any chance, were you connected to a computer? I had my original NS3 replaced (bad pitch stick) so I backed it up with the Nord Sound Manager before I sent it back. When I received the new unit, I updated it from 1.04 to 1.24 (which was the version from which I created the backup) then performed the restore.
Everything seemed fine until I powered off and powered on again. All of the Programs were in alphabetical order by bank. Weird. I thought I may have accidentally hit some type of auto-reorder button in Nord Sound Manager, but I don’t think so. Nothing else was changed, just the Programs.
I performed the restore again, an this time things stayed the way they should and everything has been fine since.

Yes, the computer was connected. But as far as I know, the Sound Manager has no function to rearrange everything.
And the sounds were not sorted alphabetically or by category, but randomly.
Maybe it could also be a failure of the Sound Manager.

Re: NS3: Sounds are reordered by itself
Are you also on 1.24?
In any case, the song and program management and references were recently reordered. When upgrading, programs and songs are suitably converted. Even though it has worked for most, there could obviously be errors in the process.

Re: NS3: Sounds are reordered by itself
Looks like Sound Manager is a common factor. I’m using v7.10. I don’t recall seeing anyone else mention that their patches were reordered without user intervention, other than you. Would be good to record as a bug, but I wouldn’t know how to reproduce it.jokeyus wrote:Yes, the computer was connected. If you didn’t have make a backup before this happened, you could redownload the factory settings here. Of course you’ll want to save your custom programs first:
