Nord Piano 3 Keybed? TP40 H or TP40 GH? or something else?

Post by momos »

I wrote an email to Nord,the official answer is TP40 H.
After that, I try my own Nord Piano 3 with coins and counterweights, I found the weight between lower keys and higher keys are different.

As the information from Fatar's website (http://www.fatar.com) , I known the TP40H is Balance Weighet, and the TP40GH is four zones Graded Action. But thru my test, the keybed of Nord Piano 3 was Graded Action but seems without four zones, it's similar to TP40GH.

I am wonder the answer of the keybed types.I also sent emails to both Nord and Fatar but still no answer, and I can't understand why there isn't any information about Graded Actions from official website.

Below is pictures and Videos

If anyone have Nord Piano 3, you can test and we should know is it the truth.I really want to know...

I am certainly it's Graded Actions, but why I can't see this information from official website and I waited almost one week for the email but no answer? seems strange :facepalm:

Another question is the TP40GH have 4 zones, is it means each zone have different weight? How to split? In my test, Piano 3 didn't have 4 zones,(not sure)...
So, it may be not a TP40GH...

Wow! That's an impressive experiment you've done there, momos. Keep digging. I have an NP3 on order when they finally arrive in the US and am also very interested in the keybed type and feel.

For lordy and momos and others with new NP3s (congratulations BTW) - What is your impression of the playability of the keybed? is it weighty enough? how closely does it resemble the action of an acoustic grand??

The Nord Piano 3 Comparison Chart from the Nord official website says NP3 uses [88-key triple-switch grand weighted hammer action] while NP2 HA88 uses [88-key weighted hammer action].

I'm focusig on the [grand weighted]. I think what 'grand' means includes the fact that they use graded action.

Though they say nothing about the exact keybed, but can we just assume that they hide something technically critical........something they cannot reveal?;;
