"Thanks" button & Feeds

Dear all,

As you might or not have noticed, there is now a new small "Thanks" button where you can thank the poster to a particular post or shared patch/sample/help... etc:

At your profile it thus says "Thanks" as the number you thanked someone and "Thanked" for how often people thanked you.


On q side note, I had to disable the RSS feed temporarily since it was causing a lot of database errors.
I hope you can live with the ATOM feed at http://www.norduserforum.com/feed.php (you can see different options in the status bar e.g., of Firefox)
Including, you cqn use it on a per forum basis using the e.g., the icons next to the forum names.
A basic RSS feed will continue to be available at http://www.norduserforum.com/syndication.php if you need to use RSS (also through Feedburner).

Just a small update: I moved to a completely new and more sophisticated Thank-You/Gratitude System including Ajax so you don't have to reload a page etc.
Please let me know if you have problems! The import of the old data went smoothly I hope! (The button moved a bit to the right..hope you can find it )

I actually couldn't find it at first. I've attached what I'm getting (no button - the hourglass is where I hovered over the missing button).

Hi,
hmm, thats weird. Do you use Safari by any chance? (Thats the only Browser I counldnt thest).
Try clearing the cache anc completely reloading the page by STRG-F5. If it still remains, maybe you can send me an error code and you exact specification! Thanks!

I'm using IE9 and as usual, the button is now showing up!

I'm getting notifications on being thanked, which is fine, but the link in the notification goes to 127.0.0.1, which doesn't work so long as I don't host a copy of your forum on my laptop.

one tiny grammatical criticism, it may flow better to say:

Has given thanks: 6 times
Has been thanked: 23 times

on an unrelated note, i need to be less stingy with my thanks!

I changed the grammar, sounds indeed much more correct.
Hmm, normally you shouldnt get a PM/email, only if you opt-in by activating the settings in the UCP.
I checked and now it seems the domain works, if it persists please let me know!

And btw, I didn't mean to inflate the "thank yous" in general. Inflation is well known to destroy the underlying value. I just wanted to make it easier (I am discussing with the guys from tapatalk to implement it in the mobile version as well).
Maybe we should suppress some stats on some of the pages. In fact, there is a whole rating system "under the hood" which I almost completely disabled for the moment.

I'm using Chrome and don't see the thanks button, but I see the quote button. However the mouse changes when I'm at the right side of the quote button.

Hi Ramon, did you clear the cache and refresh using STRG+F5? Sometimes it needs to be done 3 or 4 times to make it work. Hope it helps, if not, let me know!
