Switching programs without the sound briefly cutting
He people!
I just bought a Nord Stage Classic revision B model of the Dutch equivalent of Craigslist and I am really happy with this keyboard, what an amazing instrument!
I am quite a noob at playing keyboard but I have been playing piano for years now. I made some sweet programs for different songs I play with my band, and as a keyboard player I am supposed to fill in the silence in between songs. I do this using the panel A and B function but sometimes this is not enough and I really have to switch programs. Only problem is, it cuts the sound when I switch programs which is not ideal when I am the only one playing. Is there a workaround to this?

Re: Switching programs without the sound briefly cutting
Nord can't do this... Kurzweil can...
Anyway, I had both, and kept the Nord ;o)
Kurz is superior in sounds, Nord is superior in live play, except for this feature ...

Not possible, I'm afraid. Only switching between slots in the current Program will work. Shame really, a sound-retain feature would be really useful, yet surprisingly few keyboards can do it.

The same way you do.
Or don't.
Or don't.

I point to the back of the room and shout "Elephant!". When the audience are looking the other way, that's when the "magic" happens.j0rizz wrote:So how do you guys switch smoothly between sounds?

Switching between slots is a very effective workaround for this requirement.

Pending mode is an option too.
However, not sure whether this feature is available on the NS Classic.

Re: Switching programs without the sound briefly cutting
Not available on NS Classic/EX. Pending mode cuts the sound anyway, it is just a way to prepare the switch to the next Program in advance (so you can browse for the next program without actually activating it or each other one you go through while searching); switching between Slot A/B does not cut because you are still in the same Program actually, but when you switch to another Program the NS DSPs must "load and run" the new parameters and so the previous sound is cut.NordFan wrote:Pending mode is an option too.
