If you subscribe to their newsletter at NordKeyboards.com, you'll get an email the moment they release the Sample Editor for NS3. Until then I imagine they won't release any news about it.

One does start to wonder. They've got someone coding and testing away, 6-8 hours a day for weeks, to get this done? And they still have hurdles?
Or maybe - the sense of urgency over there is a little less than here. Maybe - it's been farmed out. Maybe - it's still on a to-do list.
Guess that's all part of the charm of a boutique vendor...

I wonder what made Nord announce that the Sample Editor would be ready in October.

Possibly they figured all they needed was backwards compatibility, which would have been easy – and then it occurred to them mid-way that a Sample Editor wouldn’t make sense without the ability to configure the embedded parameters. Which is impossible without actually hearing the sound.
Oops.
Major software undertaking instead of quick file support issue.
Of course, I could be completely wrong, but that would make sense to me.

Re: Nord Sample Editor NS3 - Please Nord!
If the extra development time is largely due to dealing with the additional parameters of the new format, I imagine many people would be happy with an interim release that had only as much functionality as the NS2 Sample Editor does.analogika wrote:Possibly they figured all they needed was backwards compatibility, which would have been easy – and then it occurred to them mid-way that a Sample Editor wouldn’t make sense without the ability to configure the embedded parameters. But you make a good point that including other parameters would be a whole new complication for them. My guess would be that you would do your sample parameter editing (envelope, whatever) on the NS3 itself, and there would have to be a new functionality that would read those settings from the NS3 and embed them in the file with the sample.

Re: Nord Sample Editor NS3 - Please Nord!
Can't they just release version 1.0 for the NS3C to allow us to load new samples? They can release another version later with the conversion.
I am totally frustrated at this point. Can't use this on gigs; Just doesn't make sense owning it for me any longer.

Re: Nord Sample Editor NS3 - Please Nord!
Yup it is what is stopping me buying one. Nord could have taken my money a long time ago if they had thought this one through prior to release. Guess there are enough people that don't use custom samples to ensure that Nord is ok with on-going lack of release of this basic feature.kbrkr wrote:Can't they just release version 1.0 for the NS3C to allow us to load new samples?
