Yes! Thank you for the informative and generous write-up -- it's noteworthy how totally wrong Behringer's support was about this.

I'm surprised more people don't seem to want this sort of simple computer-or-no-computer setup.

He, thanks.

It looks like the new Q502USB (when it becomes available) would be even better, because it has two additional channels and only seems to cost like 5 euro more (maybe they'll lower the price on the 302USB, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Q502USB replaces it).

(fwiw, my guess is the 302USB would fit on top of the NS2 and that the Q502USB would be a little too big)

Same problem that I am facing. Any solution to get rid from this problem.

The 302USB only has a USB connection to provide it's power.
This bit is clearly untrue: if the USB connector is only used for power, how are you then able to record/playback audio using this mixer from your PC? How does the digital sound data go from the PC to the mixer? Magic? :o

It surprises me they gave you this answer.
They used ambiguous (and poor) English. What they meant was that the only way to provide power to the 302USB is through its USB port.

fwiw, I had asked about powered USB hub -- they said it wouldn't work -- but per mjbrands's post -- see http://www.norduserforum.com/post22642.html#p22642 -- it seems they were just wrong.

There is also the http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/Q502USB.aspx -- which should work, as well as the Motu Track16, and (I believe) this one http://www.steinberg.net/en/products/au ... ur28m.html

If, for your purposes, the only thing it need to be connected to the computer for is power, then something like this might do the trick:

though you have to make sure you get something that puts out as much power as your device requires.
