Is it with just a specific sample, or randomly?

No issue except program A-85. I copied it to an empty program, same issue.
I took another program that only contain synths, change all the layers to sample, and change them randomly and at some point it crash.
This is a bit confusing. If the A-85 is moved to a new location and still crashes, then perhaps it could it be the stored programme A-85 that is not formatted correctly or that memory location is faulty (and hence the program has some 'incorrect' data on it) and that is why crashes elsewhere.
If you copy a working programme into the A-85 location, what happens?
Also you say "change randomly" the samples... Is it always the same sample that crashes the synth? (and do you know what sample does A-85 use?)

There are three samples in A-85. If I changed them before I play, the program is working, then I reverted the sample one at a time while playing and at some point it crash. I do it in different order, it crashes at some point.

I was also thinking about that, could it be a memory issue for these locations. There is no way to validate if it is a memory issue or DSP issue as we do not know what DSP 3 can do.
I will copied another program to that location to validate this.

You may also try to delete / „initialize“ program A-85 with Nord Sound Manager and then create a new program from scratch using just one synth engine with any sample, then see if the issues persists. If not you may try the same with all samples that were in the original A-85 program to see if one of these sample cause the issue, then delete that sample with Nord Sound Manager, download it again from the Nord sample library and put it on the Nord again. By the way, am I right in that the samples used in your A-85 are original Nord samples?

Yes the issue was the original programs and samples and I also did an OS upgrade and restore with the 1.46 factory file,
The new stage should arrive at the store in less than 10 days. Even if I test the new one for an hour it doesn’t mean that I will find something in that period of time with the new one. But no will try this program I question for sure.

I used an empty program and tested all samples, never had any issue whatsoever.
So I do not understand why it is happening.
I’m waiting for the new stage to arrive and will change it.
It is a strange issue and from what I’ve found, there are not a lot of issues like that. I just found two. So better to replace it.

6 hours drive (total trip), -20 celcius this morning…
Replace my NS4 88 with a new one, tested at the store, everything is working as expected.
Very happy with my fourth Stage 88.
Had 6 Nord boards but never had any hardware defect than this one…, so crossing fingers.

Daniel

Very nice Daniel. This is exactly what I would have recommended also. Simply replace the board. Period.
Some of the experiments others suggested are definitely interesting, especially in a diagnostic way; as well as it would have been interesting to see what was triggering it, potentially for others to attempt on their working Stage 4 HA88. (I don’t want anyone to think I’m discounting their suggestions, as my brain was running quickly as to how to diagnose and test this particular situation as well).
Glad to see you tested it at the store and all seems to be well! That’s excellent to hear!
- Wow! -20 Celsius that is colddd.
Congrats on your new Stage 4 HA88!
Love mine!
