Are you using the sound manager too? It's quite easy to use (however, it is not a real librarian as we should have, but a patch organiser).

If you choose "Organize" in the soundmanager you can work with drag&drop. It's quite simple and less complicated as the work with my motifs...

Neomad was faster :thanks:

Hi all,

sorry for delay due to new year holidays...
"Organize" in the soundmanager you can work with drag&drop. It's quite simple and less complicated
Yes, I'm also using the SOUNDMANAGER.
Drag and Drop within Samples is possible, but not crossing to the other sections, e.g. program section.

Also if You change the sample in the programbank, You can not sort the shown samples by name. You must scroll from number #1 down to the end
and search, what You want, and all is mixed up... You must know the number - or You must search item by item... Any solution?

One more:
Is there any chance, to create new "CATEGORIES" ?
E.g. there is a catergorie "Accordion" in the samples bank, but there is non in the program bank. And can not create it so far..
But it would be so helpful, if it would!

And One more:
Ain't there any chance to work "OFFLINE" without beeing connceted to the instrument Nordstage3 ?
Would be much easier to work a little bit on the sofa not havving a 2 meter instrument next to me...

I thought maybe somebody had all these problems before and solved it, so I could download a ready sorted library ?!?

Anyhow thank You for Your great help, understanding and support !!!

Well...

One more: no

And One More: no

PS: and of course with Organize you cannot mix different objects (Programs, Piano Samples, Synth Patches, Synth Samples) which doesn't make sense, you always work one "context" (object type) at a time

Thanks all for Your support.

Watched the videos, thanks for the links!

Must state, that it's not that easy to work with NS3 and Soundmanager as
I expected and is far away from todays Win10-standard.

Thought, it would be much easier to re-organize my instruments.

Also expected someone had same thoughts and could help with soemthing ready to download.
If anyone has: pls send! :D

Anyhow, will keep on playing.

:keyboard2:

Thanks a lot!

Just writing to share my sympathy. I find myself in the same situation. The realisation of how much time it will take to organise things in a way that makes any sense... it's daunting.

I've sat there with pen and paper. I've sat there with the SoundManager. I've considered renaming programs, creating a whole whack of Songs or re-categorising a ton of programs. None of those seem ideal. And worse, I hate that I must accept deleting some programs, even those I may never use live (call me a digital kleptomaniac).

And despite all my grievances, just playing seems to make it worthwhile :keyboard:

The NS3 is very intuitive and easy with multiple ways to solve the things you're seeking here. I think maybe a bit more time and reading of the manual, watching the YouTube tutorials to truly understand the different aspects of the NS3 is your best bet.

Do not underestimate the Song section - where you can create a single Song name that points to five different Programs. This is what I use for gigs and it simply doesn't really matter in what order the Programs are categorized. I have a Song that needs a Piano, an Organ, two Synth sounds, and another random type of sound. I simply use the song and dial in each of those Programs to the buttons of the Song, then save it and boom - there I have a whole bunch of sounds all categorized into a single Song. Then I move the Songs around based on the setlist for the bands I'm playing with. SUPER SUPER EASY and doesn't even require that much use of the Sound Manager at all.

Eric is right here. Just use song mode, point the 5 songs at any program you like and you are done. You could even use the songs as categories and put the appropriate programs into them. Then, you can select a song (or you might have three songs, piano 1, piano 2, piano 3) and just single click through every program that suits you. Voila, 15 piano patches all in a row.
