My approach is to make a song with the same name of each program. Then, If I am in song mode and make changes, I can just hit the song button which takes me to the program and then store it. Hit song again, back where I was.

Doesn't the NE6 have a similar shortcut like the NE5 has in Set list mode, to hold down the shortcut button while saving which lets the save go through to the program?
NE6 does not have a Song mode. If you're storing, you're *always* editing a program, never merely dealing with pointers.

Aha, I thought there was a new twist to it in the NE6, but still something similar to it. Learn something every day.
Strange that they removed that function...
And yes, in the NE5 Song mode the edit goes to the actual program if using the preset button + save (or preset+shift+save if wanting to make a "save as..." copy somewhere else).
