Why do People Hide the Nord Logo on the Nord ?

I have done a few shows that were nationally televised and if the products in use are not endorsement partners or paying for advertisement, there is a legal aspect that the brand name should be obscured.

It may be a broadcaster or producer's policy, and I guess could be a "legal" issue in the sense that it could be in the contract between the parties, but there is no "law" that prevents logos from being displayed unless there is compensation.

In the situation I'm citing, it would be similar to how products are placed on shows like American Idol where Yamaha, Korg or whomever are providing products and presumably some kind of payment consideration for advertising their products on national TV. In this case, if a musician wanted to use his Nord but it was not a supporting brand, then the name would be masked off. I am pretty sure this is the case with Jimmy Fallon's band The Roots - which I don't watch regularly, but recall the keyboard player has a Nord C2 but no logo is displayed.

I hide it with duct tape due to dissatisfaction with the famous Nord transformer hum. My 2 year old NS2ex is unusable for my studio work and I gig no more. My bass player got so irritated with the hum that he wrote a Nord competitor’s name on the tape before banishing my formerly beloved keyboard from our rehearsal studio.....

Well, a bit harsh for you...Why he didin't offer to pay for a custom made upgraded transformer for your Nord? If he was so upset...? This is what bandmates do sometimes....

I Like seeing the Nord Logo . Its a proud Symbol to me You pay alot of money for the keyboard. So Let the Logo Shine !

I can't understand that. What can make me proud on state certainly is my art, not my gear.
More generally speaking, I haven't found out a good reason for me to put the gear I own in my forum member signature. I understand people come here for talking gear more than artistic creation, but still.

Well, your signature also help people to know what you have and could ask directly question about your gear....I was not aware of your use of drumbox until I stared a specific post about it but your answers were very helpful anyway, so, a signature with your gear could be a good start....I receded quite a few question from members who were pm'ing me about the Matrix...
