Yep, alex78 and Berretje are right, Roland had/has it. In my VR-760, bought 2002 or 03, I used it to switch the leslie speed. Funny situation was when I played open air - no iPad at that time but still paper sheets on top of the board - the wind very often turned my pages and blew them into the beam of the D-beam, and whoosh, speed changed where I didn‘t want it. I remember I switched it off.
