How about a fiddle?
Hi - any tips to create a decent fiddle? I don't think I can do anything with the solo string samples, not enough attack. Or could I?
Re: How about a fiddle?
Speaking of such, I could really use a great Pedal Steel as well...

Ooh, that´s a tricky one, since the timbre changes when you slide the strings.smcelyea wrote:Speaking of such, I could really use a great Pedal Steel as well...

Re: How about a fiddle?
One of the BEST pedal steel Implementations I've ever played was on a Yamaha Tyros 5 with articulations and nuances. I thought it sounded pretty realistic, of course it all boils down to how the player executes.
I wish someone would sample that voice; even without the articulations, it's still a keeper.

Re: How about a fiddle?
I have a fiddle sound on my NS2 that I use on a country song my band plays. I don't remember how I made it, but I can try to share it over the weekend if I get a chance.

Yes, for sure, thanks in advance...Since I moved to Canada, You cannot believe how many times I've been asked "could you do a fiddle with your red board?"...I've never been asked that in France....Well, country might not be as huge in France compared to where I live now...ericL wrote:I have a fiddle sound on my NS2 that I use on a country song my band plays. Re: How about a fiddle?
Found a reasonable pedal steel in the samples section of this forum. But that's just the beginning.smcelyea wrote:Speaking of such, I could really use a great Pedal Steel as well...

Using the mod wheel to morph volume to get those swell fades. A touch of light vibrato after delay. And pitch bends on the stick, of course. It takes some practice to make it all sound right, but -- yes -- you could fool people with it.
For a while, anyway.
I think I have gear issues ....

Re: How about a fiddle?
Try one of the clavinets and add Pitch Wheel and use the volume pedal A LOT, play with the amp section and effects and use the AfterTouch to control the effects such as Chorus and Delay.smcelyea wrote:Speaking of such, I could really use a great Pedal Steel as well...

Well shoot, no of course not, not a "perfect" Lap Steel or Slide sound
but you know what? heads turn when I play this and it is fun as all heck to play
