Google "VST-AU Lead 2 Editor ".
Google "Midi Quest".
After researching a bit, I decided to go with midiquest since it seems it will also be able to handle any additional hardware I might decide to get. I found a few others that had nice guis of nord, but decided to keep it simple for now, though, they were indeed tempting.
I decided to start with the librarian since it seems it would hit a few birds at once. Hopefully it is smooth sailing. Thanks again!

I finally have time to explore midi quest but already ran in a few snags.
How to I set the sysex channel so the editor can read the Nord 2 paramets.
Is the sysex channel the same as the midi channel? On page 10 and 57 of the manual it says to press shift and then unison (midi channel) and I set both midi and global channel to 1 and still can't get midiquest to read the parameters. I pressed the GET button on a popup when trying to tweak the parameters, but still nothing..
Never mind, it seems it was reading a midi controller i also have connected. once i set the right midi in and out it read the sysex no problem! Great!!

Very good, anyway just for your and all information, the Midi Ch is not relevant for Sysex messages (as they are not "Channel Messages"); it is the sysex content (the first header bytes of a sysex message) that identifies which synth should "accept and use" the sysex data

I ended up spending quite a bit of time with the Nord Lead 2 and even created a Halion Sound Library using many Nord Lead samples, even with the little knowledge I have with it.
I'd like to once again start exploring this kit so I'm revisiting patch creation from scratch for the purpose of making commercial banks -- gotta start somewhere.
So,
I have midiquest to use as sysex librarian on pc.
I know how to "init" a blank patch.
Questions,
1. Do I need an external card to insert into the hardware of some sort to store the new patches I make or can I save and store and load exclusively from the midiquest? Which would be easier?
