I do not agree. NS2 Sounds better, smooth and reliable than NS3 to me.

My board is the NS3 88HA (and I don't have any problems with it). I was trying to address unimoogs question which specifically asked about the 88 key version.

I didn't find it anywhere in this thread, but are you also talking about the 88 key version?aureliopenna wrote:I do not agree. NS2 Sounds better, smooth and reliable than NS3 to me.

Maybe NS3 88 could be more playable... I don't have one to test. But I theory is that the velocity issues has to do not with just velocity but something in the engine.. But this is just my opinion.

Thank you, anotherscott, it seems to be very helpful indeed to compare the same versions of NS2 and NS3.anotherscott wrote:I've lost track, and few messages are mentioning which Stage 2 and Stage 3 they are comparing. Is *everybody* talking about the 88s? i.e. people are not having this issue (where some people feel the 2 piano played better than the 3) with the HP or SW actions? Does everyone agree tha the 3 is as good or better than the 2 in these other versions? (I know I've seen posts about how well the NS3 Compact plays, and I never thought the NS2 Compac played very well for piano.)

I may be wrong, but looking at the 2nd post on AP's "NS3 Velocity and General Sound vs NS2" thread he says:
"Does anyone notice a quite noticiabe change in velocity cross layers in piano section on NS3 Compact?"
which seems to indicate to me that he has the Stage 3 Compact - as do I.
As for me; I love the feel of the Compact keyboard and I have no difficulty playing and, I believe, making sing, numbers by Genesis, Floyd, Bowie, ELP and many others.
Just my 2-cents
(I've also posted this comment on the above-mentioned thread)

Do you have NS2 compact there to compare?Hobster wrote:I may be wrong, but looking at the 2nd post on AP's "NS3 Velocity and General Sound vs NS2" thread he says:

Never owned an NS2, but then I'm not trying to make a comparison between the two.aureliopenna wrote:Do you have NS2 compact there to compare?
All I'm saying is that I really like the feel of the Compact 3 and the way the pianos (acoustic & electric) respond to velocity - ie. my 'touch'.
Playing a keyboard of any sort is such a personal thing.
You obviously prefer the response of your NS2 (I'm assuming it's a Compact) over your NS3 Compact. That's fine.
I'm just giving a different perspective about the feel of the NS3C to me, not whether it's better or worse than the NS2C.
I've actually posted a response to the issues that you raised over on the similar thread to this one ("NS3 Velocity and General Sound vs NS2").

Maybe if I never had NS2 I I wouldn't be complaining so much...Hobster wrote:Never owned an NS2, but then I'm not trying to make a comparison between the two.aureliopenna wrote:Do you have NS2 compact there to compare?

I not only prefer NS2's response. I prefer everything of it. I still not found anything better on NS3, but memory size.

And I have both (still have the Stage 2), and prefer literally EVERYTHING on the Stage 3 — except for the rotary horn/rotor balance.aureliopenna wrote:Maybe if I never had NS2 I I wouldn't be complaining so much...Hobster wrote:Never owned an NS2, but then I'm not trying to make a comparison between the two.aureliopenna wrote:Do you have NS2 compact there to compare?
