Nord stage 3 and accessories

I'm upgrading from a Nord Stage 88 Classic to a Nord Stage 88 3. I have a few questions about accessories:

- Do you recommend the Nord Stage 3 stand? I purchased the NS Classic 88 and the accompanying stand - which had two plates that screwed to bottom of keyboard and then the legs screwed into those plates. It was awkward with the plates and caused problems when using the keyboard with other stands - like my workstation at home. Will the legs from this stand work with the Nord Stage 3 or do i need to upgrade to the newest stand?

- Do you recommend the Nord Triple Pedal? I'm wondering if I can set it to respond like the pedals on a standard grand piano or program one of the pedals to be tap delay tempo or another midi control message.

- Do you recommend the Nord Stage music stand?

Congrats on your future upgrade...as one who had every nord stage since 2008 I can testify that the NS3 is the best one yet without a doubt.

As for the accessories, I have them all... the stand would fit the new model , it’s the same stand they were using with the first NS

The triple pedal is a must if you are going to use the nord stage as a serious piano...the sustain pedal sound adds allot if you are playing in a solo piano style...the triple pedal isn’t assignable with any other functions other then sustain pedal the una corda and the soft pedal ... just as it works on a real grand. However it could have been amazing if I could Use the 2 other pedals as an AB swith or as Leslie switch.

The music stand is also awesome and pretty cheap.

If it's not, then it seems the triple pedal only adds the una corda and soft, which I don't consider absolutely necessary. Now, if one could assign those other two pedals, I'd buy it in a heart beat. I have the Stage 3 88 and can't figure what I seem to be missing not having the triple pedal.

You can hear the pedal noise feature only with the Nord triple pedal.

Yes...the triple pedal is the only way to trigger the sustain pedal noise...it also simulates the pedal noise of the electric pianos....

It is however, very unfair that you need the triple pedal for the pedal noise...it’s not only expensive but also much heavier then any normal single pedal...and adds a significant amount of weight when moving the NS between gigs....

I still recommend it very much...I use it on almost every show I’m doing.

On my Nord Stage 2 it works with any pedal, you just turn it on through the menu.

I'm using the Kawai triple pedal unit that came with the MP11, which is controlling the Stage 3 Compact and I hear a pedal noise, but the calibration is off so I just leave the pedal noise off anyway. You can buy third party triple pedal units that send CC MIDI data the same as the Nord pedal; I don't think it's proprietary.

Worth getting for the pedal noise and of course controlling leslie speed. The main reason of course being it doesn't slide away from when you use it!

NB: any standard footswitch/pedal, even the cheap ones, will work fine to switch Leslie speed. No need for the Nord one.
