"Nord are priced much higher in the USA":
Not true, 4000 Euros at Thomann De = 4700$ USD for the 88 notes.....Sweetwater has it at 4500 USD....Let just add some tax (I think Thomson prices are with taxes, right?) and it's close....

Just saw that in DE and NL the price (for NS3-88) also dropped €100 (from 3999 to 3899)DanielD71 wrote:The price went down from 6300 to 6000 in Canada.

Thomann’s Nord Stage 3 88 price is back at 3999€ now, but that includes 19% VAT.Quai34 wrote:"Nord are priced much higher in the USA":

Price without taxes would be 3360€ - US$3969/CA$4792.

Even though Sweetwater and some of my other regular sources do not have NS3 88 in stock, there are multiple vendors on Amazon that have it in stock. It has been available for the last week or so at least.
I've not followed prices on Nord in the past, is there any chance prices will decline a bit after supply catches up with demand in a few months?

Re: Stage 3 even worth getting?
Not really sure, but it seems like the official street prices don't usually change that much, except for models that are not being produced. However the discounts from the different retailers seem to change some from time to time, and also the person you speak to matters, at that retailer. End of quarter and end of year sales quotas usually gets competition in to play for a pricing advantage. I try and buy locally, but I travel a lot during the year and it's sometimes easier for me to buy from a national outfit -- just to get the unit. I can usually get some sort of discount from local or national retailers if I'm willing to wait for the unit, wait until there is plenty of supply or wait until the end of the quarter/year. Sometimes the discount varies all over the place during these times. I am usually faced with the situation of trying to get a particular item by a particular date -- so I don't ever get much of a discount!

Maybe a bit but not that much (@least in Holland).HokieKev wrote: I've not followed prices on Nord in the past, is there any chance prices will decline a bit after supply catches up with demand in a few months?
Normally there's the list price but soon enough there's a streetprice that's more or less fixed (couple 100 Euro below the list-price).
Unless there's a retailer with a promotion for a short while (my pre-order was triggered by a 10% discount) it usually stays at a certain price-point right up until a new version comes along.
In case of the Stage 3 EX this might take a couple of years... (if history is any indication).
For this see the Brochure on the Clavia site, page 4 and 5 at the bottom.

Re: Stage 3 even worth getting?
There was Murphy's comment about extra distortion on the organ, but looking at other posts and the front panel itself, I think what's being referred to is that the NE5 has just the single drive knob in the effects section, the NS2 adds an additional, separate dedicated drive knob in the rotary speaker panel. So it looks like you now have two sources of overdrive, which can be used individually or in combination. So I don't think it's necessarily "different" overdrive, but rather that there are more overdrive options.maurich wrote:I own NE5 and I love sound of organ, I use it very much at gigs...and I order a NS3 compact, because I read that keyboard has C2D organ software ( like my NE5D), but I read on that forum on few threads- different fast Leslie? Different overdrive and chorus 3? I am little confused now...

Re: Stage 3 even worth getting?
A testimate that sound is entirely subjective. I felt the Kronos was good but that the Nord sounded overall better in the organ / piano / e-piano categories. Especially the latter; I felt the Kronos e-pianos were frankly awful.kbrkr wrote:You would get a disagreement with me on this. I think the Kronos blows the NS3 away on sonic performance alone.Gospelkeys wrote:The NS3 is the only board that gives you top quality Piano / EP / B3 and VA synth in one package.
Although I think the Kronos I tried might have been defective. It kept blowing out my speakers at all sorts of volumes and I couldn’t get it to stop. The Nord on the other hand didn’t do this and sounded far more controlled overall. Even so, on other speakers where I didn’t have this issue the Kronos still sounded cheaper overall to me.
