Travelling to Europe and hiring a Stage 2

Post by howardeastwood »

Hi all.

I've got a few gigs this weekend in Germany and I'll be hiring a stage 2 over there rather than taking my own.

Am I correct in thinking that I just need to make a bundle of my programmes and upload to my mac, and then download to the hired keyboard?

Am I forgetting anything, or is it that simple?

Cheers

If I were you I would also take a copy of the firmware that you are running in your NS2EX. The one you rent might have a different version and that might cause trouble. So in the worst case you can update it to the same version you created the bundles with.

Agreed!

I would also have a full backup of your Nord, latest versions of your Nord Manager on your laptop (as a double precaution!!)

If I may I also have a question relating to this...
I own a Nord Stage 2 ex compact but was told that many hiring companies will stock the 88keys... will it be ok for me to transfer my bundles onto it? Or does it have to be the exact same size (number of keys) and model (or can I use a Nord Stage 2)?

Would really appreciate some help!

I think the number of key doesn't affect , the model is important. Remember if possible to do a "emergency bundle" with same memory of a Nord Stage 2-----NOT ex....As long as you change bundle's name ( you take off "ex" from the name) it should work on a "normal" Nord Stage 2. Remember to take with you a "normal" nord stage 2 OS ( even if I think OS is the same....the difference is "ex" maybe...)
