Playback a pre-recorded .mp3? .wav?
Looking at buying a Stage 2 EX Compact. Right now playing out with a Roland Juno-Di...and need much more. I have many pre-recorded sound bites (~30-60 seconds) that I need to play at the beginning and end of some songs (ie broken glass, thunder, birds & bells). The Juno has a builtin USB for song playback, mp3 format. I've searched and read the manual, but, can't seem to find an easy method to perform this same task. Any suggestions?

Record the wave file in Nord sample format and play them in pressing one note only...No MP3/USB player on any Nord.

However, it was an input jack, that you can play the sound from an external source..Quai34 wrote:Record the wave file in Nord sample format and play them in pressing one note only...No MP3/USB player on any Nord.

See NS2 manual:
Monitor In
Use this to connect and monitor a signal from a mp3 or a CD player at the NS2's headphone output. ONLY!
Signals connected to this input will not be processed with the NS2's effects or appear at the line level output jacks.
The way via NSMP is clear I think.

Ok, sorry man. My bad. I thought this would work on the Keyboard outputs as well.vojtech-h wrote:See NS2 manual:

If you Check NS3 Manual, they implemented the Monitor in order to be able to sound on outputs 1 and 2

Yes, they did...It might help me to save a channel on my 1U rackmounted keyboard mixer...I will listen to my Ipad through the input and Out 1&2 instead of loosing one channel...Good...

So, how do I accomplish this simple task? What's NSMP? Using the headphone jack I don't think will work.

The .nsmp is the format of Nord Library Samples that is used in all sample-capable Nord keyboards; you can create your own .nsmp files using the Nord Sample Editor (free download from Nord website nordkeyboards.com, check also its manual to learn how to create .nsmp from .wav samples).
Consider anyway that the Nord Stage is a pretty different instrument that the Juno DI, more of an advanced Stage piano teh first more of a synth/workstation the second, so better you check the specs before buying and don't expect you can do the same stuff (e.g. playing 16 parts or... reprdocuing .mp3 from a USB key...)
