Jimmie B3 Rotary Speaker bug?

Post by martin v »

Has anyone else noticed this problem on the Stage 2: I'm using the Jimmie B3 organ patch, I turn the Rotary speaker to fast, then when I turn it back to slow/stop, the sound it not the same as it was before i.e not nearly as good. It doesn't seem to do this on any of the other organ sounds.

It's very frustrating, because when I apply the fast 'Leslie' in the middle of a solo, and then take it off again, I have to change to another patch and then back again quickly in order to get original Jimmie B3 sound back.

Are you using Stop mode? When you switch from fast to stop, the speaker stops in the position it had revolved to, which is different every time you press the button. That's why it sounds different to the preset as the rotary speaker is set to a different position.

Absolutely brilliant! Thanks Jonesy, I had no idea that's what Stop mode did. That's totally sorted my problem out :yourock:

note that this behavior correctly reflects real world experience -- no telling where a rotor will stop in relation to mic placement on a real leslie, resulting in varied audio signal in the mixer being fed by mic(s)
