No string resonance nor pedal sound NS2

Post by mcmaklin »

I hope the string resonaince does not need any pedal I saw a movie and there should be a difference when you pull up note you should hear the sound of string. I've got one pedal attached to my instrument - if because connected or not it is not possible to hear sound of string while releasing note something is wrong here.

No. Did you read my post (the last on the first page)?
We wrote at the same time, so maybe you haven't seen. :)

No string resonance nor pedal sound NS2

Post by mcmaklin »

Yes, but there is no string resonance at all even with no pedal attached it should work,or I misunderstood something. it is not possible that it only works with triple pedal - I have one from Nord, not triple and btw there should be heard a string sound while detaching key

Hello,
I have to defer to the Stage 2 owner(s) on this issue,
since I have only test driven the NS2 for several hours, and don't actually own one yet.

However,
the manual seems to indicate that the only features that aren't available without the Triple Pedal is the "sostenuto, soft, pedal noises, and half-pedaling release and catch techniques".
It seems to indicate that the String Resonance effect works with a standard pedal.

I'm sure that you'll get some very in-depth answers within the next 6 hours.
There may also be some differences created by the v1.32 operating system.
I understand that this "v1.32" is only an intermediate OS version and has a follow up scheduled for official release version very soon.

Cheers, Hanon

You are fully correct on this Hanon. Actually, you do not need a pedal at all to get the String Resonance effect.

String res demo as of 3:00 and pedal noise as of 3:28.....you have to listen carefully cause there's some noise on the back.

Bernard gave an excellent explanation. I recorded some soundfiles how it should sound: All is played without the nord triple pedal.
