Renaming Pianos/Samples in sound manager

I've tried searching but I can't find anything.

Why can you not rename a piano/sample in the sound manager, I don't mean program.

Also if I renamed a particular file on my computer and then loaded it into the Nord. It shows the name I want on sound manager but not on the screen of my Electro 5D.

The names of Piano samples are embedded in the .npno files which cannot be modified, they are set "at the factory" (and since the Piano samples are refererenced by the name in Programs, this also ensures compatibility across programs created by different people).

I can't see no reason nor advantage in changing them: a "Imperial Grand XL" was named as such by Nord and it is the same for all Nord user (and this a good thing).

Sure I understand for the pianos, but for example theres a few different Rhodes which i'd like to name myself to make it easier, but samples most importantly, theres just so many I need to rename.

I don't understand why I can't do this easily?

Because the Nord Piano and Library samples data, including their name, are a property of Nord.
You are free to name the Programs that use those samples as you like, isn't that enough?

On your own samples instead, created via the Nord Sample Editor, you can do what you want, including renaming (if you still have the NSE Project files)

I think there is especially for samples a big advantage that a sample has a fixed name:
If You get a program from any source and the used sample(s) are already loaded in your memory the program finds it independent under which number it is stored. Its also possible to reorganize the samples to e.g. similar instrument blocks without loosing the link to the programs where the sample is used.
